COMPULSORY SCHOOL FEES FOR 2026

School fees are set at annual public meetings of School Governing Bodies (SGBs), where parents vote on the amount to be paid.

At the Annual General and Budget Meeting held on 3 December 2025, a resolution for the compulsory school fees for the 2026 academic year was formally adopted by the Governing Body of Port Shepstone High School. School fees are due and payable annually in advance on the 1 January 2026.

 School fees for 2026 will be as follows:

COMPULSORY SCHOOL FEES (TUITION ONLY)

  • Grade 8: R27 700 per Year
  • Grade 8: R2 770 per Month
  • Grade 9-12: R26 650 per Year
  • Grade 9-12: R2 665 per Month

Any payments made upon acceptance of application will be credited to your school fee account.

SCHOOL FEES ARE PAYABLE IN ADVANCE

Monthly Payment: 10 equal installments from 01 January to 01 October 2026

EARLY SETTLEMENY

A 10% reduction is offered if the full year’s school fees are settled by 28th February 2026

  • Grade 8: R24 930
  • Grade 9-12: R23 985

Application for Exemption

All parents shall be obligated to pay school fees in terms of Section 40 of the South African Schools Act, unless they have been granted exemption from the payment of school fees.

Parents who are unable to pay compulsory school fees may apply for an exemption.

The criteria for the total, partial or conditional exemption of parents shall be determined in accordance with the criteria set out in The Exemption of Parents from School Fees Regulations (as amended in Government Gazette 39392 of 17 November, 2006).

Exemption applications are not permitted for Boarders.

    APPLICATIONS

    The application process for the following year usually opens in about April/May of the previous year, but is dependent on the Department of Education finalizing the date every year.

    The school has an Open Day which is when application forms are handed out and parents and prospective learners come and visit the school to see the facilities. 

    Applications are done manually and certified copies of documents are required (Unabridged Birth Certificate of the learner, ID copies of both parents, reports, proof of residence, etc.)  No online applications are accepted.

    BOARDING ESTABLISHMENT PORT SHEPSTONE HIGH SCHOOL

    At the Budget Meeting a resolution for the annual boarders’ fees for 2026 was adopted.

    BOARDING ESTABLISHMENT

    Port Shepstone Boarding Establishment is situated on the grounds of the school, and consists of two boarding houses for girls known as “FOUR WINDS” and “SEVEN SEAS”. The dining rooms are situated in a separate building, which divides the two boarding houses.

    The swimming pool is situated very close to the boarding houses and boarders make full use of this facility during the summer months. Boarders have the use of the grounds after school activities are over for the day and at weekends. 

    HOME AWAY FROM HOME

    The fees are as follows:

    NO EXEMPTION WILL BE CONSIDERED ON BOARDERS’ FEES

    • Grade 8

      • Total Annual Fee: R 99 200.00

      • Breakdown: Includes school fees of R 27 700.00

      • Early Settlement (10% Discount): R 89 280.00 (If settled in full by 28 February 2026)

      Grades 9 – 12

      • Total Annual Fee: R 98 150.00

      • Breakdown: Includes school fees of R 26 650.00

      • Early Settlement (10% Discount): R 88 335.00 (If settled in full by 28 February 2026)
